My life in movie/tv posters
For my journal I chose to do something very unique and different compared to the ideas that have
been tossed around. I wanted my idea to be one that stood out and one that challenged me to do
something new. I bounced ideas around from where have I traveled to where I think my future will go.
After many ideas I can to a final conclusion and chose my idea. For this I chose to pick 20 of the best
moments of my life since the day I was born till present. Each of the 20 events that have been chosen
are ones that have had a huge impact in my life or ones that I feel will impact my future. I took these
events and linked them up to movies or tv shows that they can relate too. I then took the poster for that
show or movie and recreated it but my version of it. For example joining a fraternity. What is the first
titles that come to mind? Blue Mountain State? American Pie? Next I would choose the one that most
represented me and the experiences the best. So for rushing a fraternity I chose to recreate the
American Pie movie poster. I then took my photos into photoshop and recreated the poster to match me
and my personalities/the event. I really liked this project because being a film major it made me really
think about my life and how film influences and interacts with me everyday. It also gave me some
really good ideas for graphic designs and how I can use them to help me build my portfolio. Recreating
these logos by hand challenged me more than expected and took about 15 hours to finish the whole
project. It made me think outside the box and pushed my limits. I feel I got the most out of the project
as I could and really enjoyed doing it. Below is the list of my 20 events.
